ASUS is making more announcements at CES 2025 in Las Vegas, an important event for the famous manufacturer. Among the new features to remember, the brand is unveiling a Zenbook 14 which it describes as the lightest Copilot+ PC in the world. This ultraportable weighs less than a kilogram (980 g) and its featherweight should make it a machine capable of going anywhere, capable of pushing the limits in terms of mobility. The Zenbook 14 benefits from an all-new minimalist design and becomes the first ASUS laptop to use Ceraluminum across the entire chassis. This concerns in particular the cover, the keyboard area and the base.
Remember that Ceralumium is an exclusive Asus material which is intended to be anti-wear, scratch-resistant and dirt-repellent. It is also 30% lighter than anodized aluminum, which explains the lightness of the laptop PC even if it is not a record in the sector. Other models (LG, MSI, Fujitusu, Acer, etc.) weigh less than 1 kg and the battle is now fought at the level of materials, but not only. Indeed, ASUS is not only relying on the lightness of its machine to shake up the competition.
The flagship feature of the Zenbook 14: 32 hours of battery life
The Zenbook 14 (UX3407) claims an impressive battery life of 32 hours, which puts it at the very top of the market in the industry. The arrival of Qualcomm’s Snapdragon chips and progress from Intel and AMD are helping to make Windows laptops more durable than before. Asus is banking on Snapdragon X Elite and Snapdragon The laptop adds up to 32GB of RAM (LPDRR5x at 8,533MHz) and up to 1TB of storage (PCIe Gen 4 SSD).
With dimensions of 31.07 x 21.39 x 1.34~1.59 cm, the Zenbook 14 houses a 14-inch OLED panel displaying in Full HD (19200 x 1200 pixels) in 16:10 format. The display claims a peak HDR brightness of 600 nits and covers the DCI-P3 color gamut at 100%. It also benefits from VESA DisplayHDR True Black 600 certification and a 70% reduction in harmful blue light. The screen-to-device ratio reaches 90%.
On the connectivity side, ASUS integrates two USB 4 ports (DisplayPort + PowerDelivery compatible), as well as a USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A port, an HDMI 2.1 (TMDS) port and a jack socket. The laptop PC connects up to Wifi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4 while a Full HD AI camera is present for videoconferencing. Two speakers take place and benefit from Dolby Atmos certified amplification technology. Note that the promise of reaching 32 hours of autonomy is ensured by a 70 Wh battery and that a 65 W adapter accompanies this model.
