Asus released the new ROG Falchion Ace HFX keyboard and launched the ROG Harpe Ace Extreme mouse

The 65% size Falchion Ace HFX is equipped with ROG HFX magnetic switches that also support the questionable Rapid Trigger and Speed Tap modes.

Asus’ Republic of Gamers has released new hardware for the keyboard and mouse market. The company has to offer the new Falchion Ace HFX to the market of trendy compact keyboards, while mouse hands are pampered with the Harpe Ace Extreme presented at Computex.

ROG Falchion Ace HFX is a 65% form factor keyboard that, as the name suggests, uses ROG HFX magnetic switches. The switches are already lubricated at the factory and they are promised a lifetime of 100 million presses. The connection depth of the switch can be adjusted by the user between 0.1 and 4.0 mm. Both PBT and ABS keycaps are mentioned for the keyboard, but it is not said whether some of the keycaps are made of one and the rest of another material, or whether the material depends on the key layout, for example.

Asus has also equipped the keyboard with the Rapid Trigger mode, which enjoys a dubious reputation, which enables the keypress to be reset as soon as the switch moves upwards. Speed Tap, on the other hand, takes into account the most recent press without delays, even if the previous one has not been released yet. Some racing games have already announced their features.

Falchion Ace HFX supports a refresh rate of up to 8000 hertz, which is said to shrink the response time from one millisecond of a typical 1000 hertz keyboard to a troublesome 0.125 milliseconds, but the reality is of course not quite according to the marketing talk.

There are no fewer than five sound-absorbing layers inside the body of the keyboard, three of which are made of PORON material and three of silicone. There are also two USB-C connections on the body, which enables convenient switching between two different computers. The angle of the keyboard can be adjusted to three different positions with the included paws.

ROG Harpe Ace Extreme, presented at the Computex trade fair, belongs to the category of ultralight mice with its weight of 47 grams, even though the mouse is still wireless. The secret of the lightness is the carbon fiber structure, whose exact layout of the pattern is, according to the marketing words, unique in every mouse.

According to Asus, the design of the mouse has been implemented in cooperation with esports professionals and is particularly good for so-called for the claw grip. Its main keys use ROG Optical Micro Switches, and the mouse comes with Corning Gorilla Glass replacement paws, ROG Polling Rate Booster and a hard plastic carrying case. The glass paws are said to fit particularly well on cloth mouse pads.

Harpe Ace Extreme supports up to 8000 hertz refresh rate with ROG SpeedNova technology and the included amplifier. The same 8000 hertz mode is also supported in wired mode at the end of the USB-C cable. The Polling Rate Booster is placed between a normal wireless receiver or in wired mode between the USB cable and the computer.

Asus ROG Falchion Ace HFX’s price or sales schedule is not yet certain. ROG Harpe Ace Extreme will be available immediately and is priced in Finland at around 289 euros.
