Asus is an established brand that boasts the popular ROG gaming division. In addition to computers and gaming peripherals, this series also includes smartphones. The latest additions ROG 9 and ROG 9 Pro offer powerful hardware, fresh design and lots of interesting features.

News The Asus ROG Phone 9 and 9 Pro are smartphones that make practically everything subordinate to performance. And even the appearance, which has sharp edges and distinctive design elements. The frame of the phone is finally made of aluminum, while the back is made of glass. Customers will also be pleased with the water and dust resistance according to the IP68 standard. On the right side, in addition to the control buttons, there are also AirTriggers for maximizing the gaming experience.
An interesting technical element is hidden inside the phone and consists in cooling the device. The new cooling system uses a 57% larger graphite plate than the previous generation. Asus also boasts that it can reduce the temperature to several degrees lower than that of the ROG Phone 8.

Two displays for maximum experience
In terms of display, there is an identical panel in both phones. It is a 6.78-inch AMOLED display with FullHD+ resolution and a brightness of 1,600 nits. Game Genie mode is then prepared for players, which can offer up to 185Hz refresh rate for supported games.
The news also features a second AniMe Vision mini-LED display on the back, while in the case of the ROG Phone 9 Pro, this means the presence of 648 LEDs. The basic model has 85 of these diodes. The display can be used to customize the phone, for example with GIFs, but you can also play four games, including the legendary Snake. Control is via AirTriggers buttons.
Performance at the highest level
The powerful Snapdragon 8 Elite processor is hidden under the hood of the new products from the Asus workshops. In the basic variant, 12 GB of RAM and 256 or 512 GB of storage are then available. The ROG Phone 9 Pro version has 16 GB of RAM and 512 GB. However, there will also be an Edition variant, whose memory jumps to 24 GB of RAM and internal storage to 1 TB. The manufacturer also states that compared to the previous generation, the novelty is up to 40% more powerful in terms of graphics.

The high performance is also underlined by the result of the highest variant in the AnTuTu test. In the benchmark stress test, the ROG Phone 9 Pro model set a new record and the score of 3,121,390 was an absolute smash.
As for other equipment, the phones boast a 5,800mAh battery with support for wired charging with a power of 65 W. Wireless charging takes place with a maximum power of 15 W. The news also offers stereo speakers, a 3.5 mm audio jack, or a fingerprint sensor under the display. On the software side, it runs Android 15 and the manufacturer promises at least two major updates.
Top cameras
Although the phones are primarily focused on gaming, the manufacturer did not neglect to deploy a high-quality set of cameras. The identical sensors include the main 50 Mpx sensor with six-axis stabilization and a 13 Mpx ultra-wide-angle chip with a 120° field of view. A 32MP camera is ready for selfies.
The third camera of the present setup is different for the model. The ROG Phone 9 Pro relies on a 13MP telephoto lens with OIS and 3x optical zoom, while the basic variant gets by with a 5MP macro.

Accessories for gamers
Along with the new gaming machines, Asus also presented accessories. AeroCase serves for better cooling of the processor and offers an external cooler. The design of this case also helps the sound that flows from the bottom of the phone. The case redirects sound to the front for a better gaming experience. The Chill Case with a passive cooling steam chamber has the same function.
Another accessory is the AeroActive Cooler X Pro. The case features a paddle fan that improves smartphone cooling by 29%. A subwoofer for better sound and two hardware buttons will also please you.
Price and availability
The new Asus ROG Phone 9 Pro and ROG Phone 9 can be pre-ordered in some Asian countries starting today. The smartphones should arrive in Europe in December and will be available in black and white. The Edition model will come with the AeroActive Cooler X Pro accessory. Whether this version will reach us is still uncertain.
