Asus upgrades ROG Thor power supplies with up to 1600W, GPU-First improves stability for GPUs

Powerful modern computers also need powerful resources. Processors and graphics cards today can take hundreds of watts, and so the company Asus comes with upgraded ROG Thor computing resources. This includes the new models ROG Thor 1000W Platinum III, ROG Thor 1200W Platinum III and the most powerful ROG Thor 1600W Titanium III. The new PSUs are ATX 3.1 compatible, come with a 10-year warranty, and have a removable magnetic OLED display that allows it to be placed in a visible location no matter how the PSU is placed in the case.

The goal of the innovative series is the highest possible efficiency. Here we find GaN MOSFETs, which according to the manufacturer have a 30% higher efficiency compared to standard MOSFETs. Furthermore, we have the GPU-First function, which stabilizes the supply of voltage reserved for the GPU, when there are no such significant fluctuations when the requirements change. Asus says the sources improve stability by 45%, whatever that means. Turbo Mode ensures better cooling in case of longer high energy consumption, the fan is supposed to have twice the lifespan of the standard, 80,000 hours. The name also suggests the certification they meet, the 1000W and 1200W models received 80 Plus Platinum, the 1600W then received 80 Plus Platinum, this version also has the Cybenetics Lambda A+ certification for low noise (below 20 dB(A)).
