The reigning Slovak champion ŠK Slovan Bratislava received a reinforcement in the midfield.

The Champions League participant will be strengthened by Danylo Ignatenko, who last worked in Girondins Bordeaux. The Whites’ management signed a three-year contract with the Ukrainian. The official website of ŠK Slovan informed about it.

The twenty-seven-year-old member of the wider staff of the Ukrainian national team comes to the capital after working in Bordeaux. The famous French brand lost the status of a professional club in the summer and declared bankruptcy, therefore Ignatenko comes as a free agent.

“We are very happy that Danylo Ignatenko is becoming our player. With his arrival, we gain increased competition and expanded options in our central formation.

Danylo has experience in international football, so he can help us in the Champions League and in the domestic competition. We took advantage of the opportunity that arose after what happened at his previous club and signed him to a three-year contract.

Danylo Ignatenko is a central midfielder who also uses his good physical parameters. In the previous club, he regularly played in Ligue 1, respectively. in Ligue 2. Since 2022, he has made 81 starts for Girondins Bordeaux, scoring four goals.
