An evolution of the Deebot X2 Omni, it is notably equipped with a better navigation and obstacle detection system. Sensors at all levels for navigation

When we look at the Ecovacs Deebot X5 Omni, we notice that it is not equipped with the famous LiDAR dome that equips the competition. You know, that little growth on the top that helps detect obstacles. Instead, this model prefers front sensors for orientation. Its operation is just as efficient and allows the vacuum cleaner to find its way around the premises.

The vacuum cleaner uses a unique nylon wire brush, with a built-in comb to limit tangles of hair and pet hair. It’s quite effective, but we would have liked a more effective anti-tangle brush. So if you have pets at home, this vacuum cleaner may struggle a bit.

The station that makes your life easier

Who says robot vacuum cleaner says charging station. This one is rather elegant and above all very practical. In addition to recharging it when you have reached the end of 260 minutes of autonomy, it collects the dust to store it in a bag which must be emptied less often than a conventional dust bin. There is also a tank to collect dirty water, another to fill the vacuum cleaner with clean water.

That’s not all, once on the base, the mop is washed and dried at 70°, which prevents bad odors. On the other hand, as we said above, you will have to take care of the roller manually. You can follow the progress of the vacuum cleaner via the smartphone app which, although very practical, lacks a little modernity and could do with a good overhaul. But she does what she’s asked and that’s all that’s asked of her. A few small concessions which explain its more advantageous price placement.
