At a bargain price? Eternal BVB flirt off the market

For a good year and a half, rumors have been circulating that Borussia Dortmund has its eye on Nico Paz from Real Madrid. Now the youngster is finally off the market. The rumored figures of the deal are likely to cause some surprise at BVB.

The 19-year-old attacking midfielder Nico Paz has turned his back on Real Madrid and joined Italian Serie A newcomers Como Calcio. The clubs confirmed this on Sunday evening.

The Argentine U23 international has signed a contract with Como until the end of June 2028.

“It’s not surprising that other clubs are very interested in Nico. Last season he used every minute he was able to spend on the pitch with some of the best players in the world to show what he can do and he came through. He’s an exciting talent, left-footed, great on the wing and in midfield and I’m looking forward to working with him,” said Como coach Cesc Fabregas about the purchase of the talent on “comofootball.com”.

The newcomer himself adds: “It means a lot to me, I’m very happy to be able to join this family. For me it’s a step forward in my career and I’m very excited to be part of this project. I’m really looking forward to getting started.”

Numbers may surprise BVB

It has been apparent for weeks that Paz would seek a challenge away from Madrid, but the supposed details of the deal are surprising.

According to Italian transfer insider Fabrizio Romano, Como will only pay a transfer fee of six million euros, but will grant Real a 50 percent stake in a resale and a buyback option.

In the previous rumours, in which BVB often appeared, there was usually talk of a pain threshold of 15 million euros.
