The mentioned step is the strongest restriction brought against China so far, as it prevents the companies of the Eastern superpower from making their self-developed AI accelerators sufficiently fast and efficient.

According to Reuters, the United States Department of Commerce may implement the first round of new regulations today, but neither the Department of Commerce nor the Chamber of Commerce answered the questions of the mentioned media. New restrictions will arrive in December, and in principle, they will include limiting the availability of HBM memories.
