The Grand Opening of the ATP Finals takes place at the Inalpi Arena and Jannik is welcomed by the roar of the public. On social media Bertolucci clarifies the South Tyrolean’s commitments in 2025
Everything is ready to Turin for the ATP Finals which will officially kick off on Sunday with Jannik Sinner taking to the field against the Australian de Minaur in the match scheduled for 8.30pm. And in the Piedmontese city the enthusiasm is already sky high to be able to cheer for the number 1 in the world.
Cahill’s words
His coach revealed a little about Sinner’s plans for 2025 Darren Cahill who in a series of interviews he addressed the doping case which still concerns the South Tyrolean and spoke about his rivalry with Alcaraz but among the topics discussed there was also the possible program for the next season with Monte Carlo which could be at risk: “The transition from Miami to clay this year was too abrupt, we will prepare it as best we can also to avoid risking injuries. The ATP doesn’t make it easier for us by extending the Masters 1000, we will make choices”.
Bertolucci denies Cahill
The Sky commentator takes care of partially denying Cahill’s words Paolo Bertolucci who on social media addresses the calendar issue by answering questions from some Sinner fans and expresses doubts about Monte Carlo: “To plan as best as possible, Paris should skip it but…” he says, implying that the Monegasque tournament (Sinner trains and has his residence in Monte Carlo, ed.) could be a difficult choice. Then Bertolucci continues by replying to a fan: “Monte Carlo is very close to Miami. Madrid, on the other hand, is played on high ground. There are pros and cons”.
Grand Opening Show: Sinner talks about his gaffe
For the ATP Finals it’s time for the Grand Opening Showa gala evening to kick off the event and to warm up, if it were still needed, the enthusiasm of the Italian fans and of a Turin that has been in fibrillation for days. Presenting it is the TV host Alessandro Cattelan and when he calls Jannik Sinner, the Inalpi Arena erupts into a real roar. Then the usual questions: “Everything is going well, this is a special event for us. But above all for me, Andrea and Simone (Vavassori and Bolelli) who are Italian. I’ll try to go as far as possible, the atmosphere is beautiful”.
ATP Finals: the programme
Cattelan tries to involve him also between music and other things but Jannik reveals that the last few days have been “complicated”, also recounting one of his gaffes: “Yesterday I made a good impression, they asked me who my favorite superhero was and I said Speed instead of Flash. Speed doesn’t even exist. If you ask me to sing everyone will run away, maybe it’s better not to”. And the photo with Cattelan and the singer also arrives in the changing rooms Marco Mengoni who has never hidden the fact that he is a big fan.
