August inflation figures are decisive for the inflation difference of civil servants, civil servant retirees, SGK, Bağ-Kur retirees. Here is the second data that will determine the increase.

The eighth inflation data of the year, which concerns millions of civil servants, civil servant retirees, SGK and Bağ-Kur retirees, has been announced.

Inflation was 2.47 percent per month in August. Accordingly, SGK and Bağ-Kur retirees earned a 3.23 percent increase for July and a 2.47 percent increase for August, making the cumulative difference 5.77 percent. However, since this increase will be reflected in salaries in January 2025, it will be calculated cumulatively at the monthly inflation rate announced each month. The net increase in salaries will be determined with the announcement of inflation data for September, October, November and December.

DIFFERENT FOR CIVIL SERVANTS AND RETIRED CIVIL SERVANTS

Civil servant salaries and pensions of civil servants will be increased by 6 percent in the first 6 months of 2025 and by 5 percent in the second 6 months. These increases will take place if the rates remain below inflation. If inflation remains higher than the increase rates, civil servants and civil servant retirees will see the inflation difference in their salaries as an increase.

(Note: If the inflation rate is announced as negative, there may be a decrease in the calculated cumulative rate. The difference to be reflected in the salaries will be determined according to the inflation data to be announced in other months.)
