To celebrate the 25th anniversary of the A2 model, Audi turned one example of this hatchback into an electric vehicle.
It is the unique Audi A2 E-tron concept, the latest creation to emerge from Audi’s apprentice program, according to Autocar.
Technical details of the electric A2 have not been announced, but the images show that this A2 has been subtly redesigned under the influence of Audi’s current electric vehicles. Among other things, this includes modified front lights, while the Audi logos are illuminated, as on the new Audi Q6 E-tron.
Conventional door handles have also been removed, while cameras have replaced the standard rearview mirrors. Also, the original aluminum wheels were modified and received a more contemporary closed design, in search of increased aerodynamic efficiency.
The company is not disclosing how closely related the A2 E-tron is, technically, to any of Audi’s production cars.
