AUDI E Concept: debut in China without the iconic rings

Looking at this new Audi the question arises spontaneously. Where have Audi’s famous four rings gone? This question immediately emerges when you look at the new concept AUDI Epresented at Shanghai Auto Show. However, it is not an Audi, but one AUDIwritten in capital letters.

A new era for luxury on wheels that the Volkswagen Group intends to develop in collaboration with SAIC, the Chinese automotive giant. To avoid confusion, the AUDI brand in China will adopt a new logo composed only of the letters “AUDI” in capital letters, abandoning the four rings that have characterized the brand’s identity for decades.

This new project, designed specifically for the Chinese marketsees the debut of the AUDI E concept, an electric vehicle with imposing dimensions: with a length of 4,870 mm, a width of 1,990 mm and a height of 1,460 mm, the car is positioned in the Sportback segment. Designed on the Advanced Digitized Platformthis concept car aims to become a benchmark for both comfort and connectivity.

Electrical power

The AUDI E concept is powered by two electric motors, one on each axle, which together provide a combined output of 570 kW and 800 Nm of torque. The Audi quattro all-wheel drive ensures dynamic driving and exceptional stability, enabling acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.6 seconds. This electric car offers a driving sensation that reflects the traditional Audi experience, enriched by advanced driver assistance technologies specific for the complex traffic of Chinese cities.

But it’s not just the autonomy that amazes: the architecture of the 800 volt high-voltage battery allows for extraordinary rapid charging. 10 minutes is enough to get further 370 km of autonomymaking electric charging just as practical and fast as refueling a traditional car.
