Audi seeks new investor for troubled factory

Audi is looking for a new investor for its Brussels factory, which is set to close soon and has problems between management and employees.

According to news in the Belgian press, Audi evaluated various options for the continuation of the operations of its Brussels facility, which has been on the agenda with problems recently.

In this context, 20 alternative business models were analyzed to continue production at the factory, but no solution was found that would enable the facility to continue operating economically and sustainably.

For this reason, Audi has started looking for new investors for the facility.

The Audi brand, which belongs to the German automobile manufacturer Volkswagen Group, announced in July that it would restructure its Brussels factory, where the luxury segment electric car model Q8 is produced and where approximately 3,000 people work, due to falling demand, and that the production of these models would continue in Mexico.

Audi management announced earlier this month that no models had been allocated for production at the Brussels plant by the Volkswagen Group.

This situation disturbed the factory workers and the unions. The workers did not return to work and confiscated the keys of the cars that had been completed.
