It is the blackest Christmas in the history of civil aviation because during this holy period of Christianity there were two catastrophes and three aviation accidents.
The first catastrophe is the crash of the Embraer 190 of the Azerbaijani airline company Azerbaijan Airlines, with at least 32 dead and injured. Among the possible causes may be the plane being hit by an anti-drone projectile fired from the ground, the controls being lost, the oxygen cylinder exploding.
The second catastrophe is that of the Boeing 737-800 of the South Korean company Jeju Airlines that happened at the airport in Muan, South Korea, with 176 victims, as a result of the explosion caused by the plane landing on its belly against a fence or construction existing in the clear way area, where nothing of this kind is allowed to exist.
The third is that of the Canadian company Air Canada whose DASH 8 plane crashed and caught fire after landing in Halifax – luckily no casualties due to a problem with the landing gear.
And the departure from the runway of the KLM Boeing 737 in Oslo – also without casualties, and caused by problems with the hydraulic installation, hopefully closes the list!
