Azores: Bolieiro’s government almost doubles deficit compared to 2019 and is “on the verge of rescue”

PLast week, Luís Montenegro was going to be with José Manuel Bolieiro and Miguel Albuquerque at a summit of the three Governments, which ended up being canceled because of Chega na Madeira’s motion of censure (see below). I would find a politically weakened Regional Government of Madeira and a financially weakened Regional Government of the Azores. Expresso’s analysis of the Azores’ accounts shows that, in addition to being in non-compliance with the Regional Finance Law for several years, which requires budgetary balance between revenue and expenditure, they continue to have a deep deficit, which has doubled since 2019 (when the PS was in the Executive) and which multiplied by 15 in the space of 10 years.
