Back 4 Blood sequel reportedly in development

Announced in 2019, Back 4 Blood was one of the main gaming releases of the year 2021. Largely inspired by cult games like Left 4 Dead (also developed by Turtle Rock Studios), Back 4 Blood was a cooperative game which allowed four players to fight a zombie apocalypse with first-person arcade-style gameplay. The game also had a “player versus player” mode. We learned today that a sequel is already in development under the code name “Gobi 2”.

Last year, Turtle Rock studio confirmed that things were starting to get busy around their next title, without specifying the nature of the latter. Obviously, it seems that this new project either the sequel to Back 4 Blood.

Next, it’s onto the portfolio of Jesse Hutch, the motion capture actor and stuntman from the first Back 4 Blood that we notice the “Gobi 2” project among the titles on which the latter is working.

It’s starting to show a lot of signs which confirm the existence of this sequence. Additionally, last year Turtle Rock Studios booked the domain name back4blood2.comjust to be sure not to have your name stolen by smart people. So it seems like it’s a matter of time before the project is officially announced by the studio.

If actor Jesse Hutch is already at work, that means development appears to be well advanced. Who knows, maybe we’ll be treated to a little surprise next month at the Game Awards!
