Slovak hockey forward Filip Mešár will be out for eight to ten weeks due to an injury in the lower part of his body.
On Monday, his overseas club Laval Rocket from the lower American Hockey League informed about the state of health of the talented Slovak.
Mešár was injured on Saturday night in the match against Utica. The 20-year-old winger had a successful start to the new season, when he collected five points for a goal and four assists in five duels for Laval and was the team’s most productive player.
Two years ago, Mešár was drafted in the 1st round from the 26th place by the NHL club Montreal Canadiens. He already tasted the lower AHL last year, when he played for Laval in two games and recorded one assist.
However, he spent most of the past season in the Canadian junior OHL competition in the Kitchener Rangers jersey. He also represented Slovakia at the Under-20 World Cup.
