BMW awarded the most successful driver during the Moto GP qualifications this season as well, and that is Francesco Banjaja this year (for the third time in a row).
BMW M is a long-term partner of Moto GP, and this is already the 22nd edition of the BMW M Award.
The winner of the BMW M Award at the end of each season receives a BMW M car as a prize (this year it is the latest BMW M5, in Frozen Deep Gray color).
The record is held by Mark Markes, who has won the BMW M Award seven times.
The new M5 uses a plug-in hybrid drive, which is a combination of a 4.4-liter V8 twin-turbo gasoline engine with 430 kW/585 hp and an electric motor with 145 kW/197 hp.
The car has a combined power of 535 kW/727 hp and 1000 Nm of torque, as well as an 18.6 kWh battery (range in electric mode is 69 km).
The new M5 sedan reaches 100 km/h in 3.5 seconds, reaches 200 km/h in 10.9 seconds and can reach 250 km/h. With the M Driver’s Package, the top speed is 305 km/h.
