Following the departure of administrator Hélder Rosalino, who ended his term on Monday without having been replaced, the Bank of Portugal (BdP) redistributed portfolios within the institutionwith Governor Mário Centeno taking charge of seven internal divisions.
In addition to the governor’s office, Centeno will be responsible for the general secretariat and the Councils, the Directorate of International Relations and Cooperation and the Department of Economic Studies.says the institution’s official bulletin this Tuesday.
Centeno will also be co-responsible for the Audit department (together with administrator Rui Pinto), the Communication and Museum department (with vice-governor Clara Raposo) and the People and Organizational Strategy department (with administrator Helena Adegas).
The vice-governor Máximo dos Santos will be in charge of the Investigation and Sanctions Departmentthe Legal Services department, the Resolution department and the Compliance office.
As for the vice-governor Clara Raposo will be responsible for the Accounting and Control department, the Communication and Museum department (with Mário Centeno), the Financial Stability department and the Markets department.
Directors Helena Adegas, Rui Pinto and Francisca Oliveira will also be responsible for several portfolios. The former will be responsible for the Issuance and Treasury department, the Risk Management department, the People and Organizational Strategy department (with Mário Centeno) and the Support Services department.
In turn, Pinto will be in charge of the Audit department (with Mário Centeno), the Information Systems and Technologies department and the Prudential Supervision department, while Francisca Oliveira will be in charge of the Statistics department, the Payment Systems department, the Behavioral Supervision department and the Data Protection office.
The reformulation follows the departure of Hélder Rosalino, whose term ended on Monday, having informed the Ministry of Finance of his intention not to extend the term, even without a replacement, according to Expresso.
Rosalino has already completed two terms at the BdP and could not, therefore, fulfill a third. A member of the BdP since 1994, he will become an administration consultant, being called upon for special projects.
