The 26-year-old suffered muscle discomfort after scoring in Sunday’s 4-1 win over Girona and was substituted in the 61st minute.

Olmo’s injury is a blow for Hansi Flick’s side, who will start their campaign in the European Champions League on Thursday after a perfect start to the season in the domestic championship.

The Spanish international, who joined from RB Leipzig for €55m, has scored in all three of his appearances for Barcelona.

The Catalan club face AS Monaco at the Stade Louis II on Thursday before Sunday’s LaLiga trip to Villarreal.
