Barry Keoghan will play Ringo Starr

Barry Keoghan is set to play Ringo Starr in four upcoming Beatles biopics directed by Sam Mendes, the ‘Fab Four’ drummer himself has revealed.

Ringo Starr addressed the casting during a recent interview with ET saying, “I think it’s great. I think he’s taking drum lessons somewhere and hopefully not too many.’

According to Variety, however, no deal has been officially finalized for the upcoming Beatles biopics, which are being made with full approval and permission for the band’s music rights. Other actors who have been linked to the project include Harris Dickinson, Joseph Quinn and Paul Mescal.

Produced by Sony Pictures, the four separate films will “tell interlocking stories, one from the perspective of each band member.”

Keogan recently starred in Apple TV+’s ‘Masters of the Air’ and made a memorable appearance in the film ‘Saltburn’ last year. She will next star in Netflix’s ‘Peaky Blinders’ alongside Cillian Murphy and Rebecca Ferguson.
