Baseus NOMOS, the 5-in-1 charging station up to 140W

Well taken care of in detail, the packaging of the NOMOS magazine by Baseus indicates on its four sides all the main characteristics of the product and the various technical specifications and, inside, provides the usual manuals and clearly, the charger with his power cable that must be connected to the wall.

On an aesthetic level, the product appears compact e minimalwith the MagSafe magnetic holder for wireless charging that can be adjusted according to the size of the smartphone. All ports are located on the front, along with the retractable USB-C cable while on the side we find the button for managing the display, which essentially allows the choice of view.

The display is located on the top of the product together with the smartphone stand with wireless charging and MagSafe which, as just mentioned, can be adjusted and tilted according to needs. If you don’t, for example, need to charge an iPhone 12 or later or the MagSafe case of your AirPods earphones, you can keep the holder in flat position to support any other product that supports the ricarica wireless Qi.

In terms of performance, we put the Baseus NOMOS charger to the test in different situations and we had a great time with a multitude of products to recharge and power, clearly simultaneously but also individually. The first thing to point out is that this charger delivers well 5 charging solutions:

• 1 x Qi2.0 wireless charging pad compatible with the MagSafe standard

The Maximum power of the charger is 140Wpower that therefore can be distributed to charge multiple devices at a time or concentrated to charge a single device if necessary. For example, it is possible to recharge a 16-inch MacBook Pro at maximum power (i.e. 140W as per the original power supply supplied in the package). The 0.8 meter retractable cable included with the charging station reaches up to 100W and is very versatile as it does not require the use of other cables on the desk.

According to the manufacturer, the magazine has been tested to last a long time, for over 10,000 tensile tests. In fact, there is a certain robustness in the cable and in the mechanism that rewinds it after use. Also convenient is the possibility of stop the cable without extracting it completely to reduce confusion on the work surface.

For multiple charging, the station intelligently assigns power to each connected device, clearly based on the specifications of the various products. If the total power required exceeds 140W, as we also read in the user manual, some devices may not charge correctly.

When turned on, the screen activates automatically and you can then press the side button at any time to move from one screen to another. In detail, there are two views: an overall one with the power delivered and with all the indications relating to the protections in use, when active, and a detailed view with the various numbers relating to the output of the individual ports.

We have carried out numerous tests with various products while charging and also during use, for example, a MacBook Pro yes 14″ and a iPhone 15 Pro Max simultaneously and we were able to appreciate the power and versatility of the product.

We went even further, connecting five products to the charger, specifically:

• MacBook Pro 14″ via USB-C port
• iPad Pro 12.9″ has USB-C port
• iPhone 15 Pro Max via MagSafe support
• Apple Watch Ultra tramite porta USB-C
• AirPods Max tramite porta USB-A

The charging performance satisfied us and we particularly appreciated the possibility of recharge and power these products without using numerous chargers and numerous wall sockets but few cables, to keep in order on the desk. The order on the work surface therefore lightens the user experience and also helps with a certain decluttering mental.

The main supported standards are Qi2 and the PD 3.1. Qi2 charging reaches up to 15W for compatible devices. The ports, however, are not all the same and can deliver different amounts of energy. For example, the only port capable of reaching 140W peak is USB-C number 3then the one immediately next to the single USB-A port. The other USB-C port and retractable cable max out at 100W. The USB-A port maxes out at 15W. The support is adjustable and accommodates iPhones of different sizes both vertically and horizontally, so that the StandBy function also works easily.

Based on the sockets used and the number of devices, we read in the technical specifications that the maximum power delivered may change. Let’s analyze the various cases.

If we connect a single device to a USB-C port we can access the maximum power of 100W or 140W in the case of only USB-C socket number 3 that supports this power. Again with a single device, if we use the Qi2 pad or the USB-A socket we get a maximum of 15W.

When we connect two devices, the maximum power delivered will be 134W if you use the USB-C ports while it will be 114W if you use a USB-C port (specifically number 3) and the USB-A port.

In all other cases, therefore with 3, 4 or 5 products connected, the maximum power delivered is 140W regardless of the combination of sockets, as we can see from the official diagrams that we have included in the article.
