BBC accompanies the 2024 Olympics live on TV, radio and digital

The BBC will be providing extensive live coverage of the 2024 Olympics in Paris. Find out where and when to tune in on TV and radio here.

The 2024 Olympics will take place in Paris this year from July 26 to August 11. In Germany, ZDF, ARD and Eurosport, among others, will broadcast the Olympic Games live, as DIGITAL FERNSEHEN has already reported. The BBC will also provide extensive international live coverage of the Olympics. Here you can find out all the important details for TV, radio and digital channels.

Olympia on BBC live on TV and via stream

BBC Sport will have a live channel and live stream of the Olympics throughout the day. BBC One and BBC Two will broadcast over 250 hours of live coverage throughout the 16-day event. There is also a second curated live stream on BBC iPlayer, Olympics Extra.

The opening ceremony will take place on Friday 26 July at 5.45pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer. Clare Balding will give a preview of what’s to come and accompany the opening ceremony live on the Seine along Paris’ main thoroughfare.

Live coverage on BBC Radio

BBC Radio 5 Live and BBC Sounds have a special Olympics programme with 12 hours of consecutive coverage a day from 10am-10pm. The medallists will also be present on 5 Live Breakfast each morning. Naga Munchetty and Adrian Chiles will open BBC Radio 5 Live’s daily Olympic schedule, covering the rowing and diving finals, as well as the athletics and swimming events, from 10am-1pm.

Mark Chapman will be reporting from 1pm to 3.30pm in the BBC Radio 5 Live café studio in Paris. Tony Livesey and Eleanor Oldroyd will be in the French capital from 3.30pm to 6.30pm to report on gymnastics and track cycling events. In the evening, Kelly Cates will take over the baton to present the medals won in the swimming pool and on the athletics track.

BBC World Service English will provide coverage and commentary from Paris in special editions of Sportsworld and Sport Today. Isaac Fanin will provide reports and interviews on the Newsday programme, while Sportshour will provide the human stories behind the medals.

BBC Sport website, app and social media

Live text will run throughout the event from 6:30am to midnight. There will also be an automated medal table. Highlights videos are available on the Website and accessible in the app via a newly introduced vertical video carousel. The new storytelling tool is designed to showcase the best video content from the games. Daily social media posts provide information about the next day’s events.
