They had only asked him to put a muzzle on the dog, a large molosser without a leash. But the owner, a 26 year old boy, he reacted first by insulting them, then by attacking the mana well-known lawyer in the capital and beating him.
It happened on Sunday evening, July 21, 2024, in a restaurant in Balduina, in the northwest quadrant of the capital. Lawyer Mauro Danielli was out having dinner with his family, his wife and two children and another couple of friends with their children when they noticed the presence of the dog in the restaurant on Via Orlandi de Tommaso. Scared that he was without a muzzlethey turned to the owner who reacted in a totally unexpected way.
The lawyer’s story
“We entered the place after mass. There was this guy with a mastiff, my wife asked him to put a muzzle on it and he started swearing at her,” the lawyer explained. “So I intervened too. He continued to insult me, I left the place to call the police“. But the twenty-six-year-old followed him and lunged at him.

The assault
“He started hitting me, kicking and punching me.. The dog also bit me in the end: it was obvious, he was following his owner – the lawyer continued to explain – I didn’t defend myself, he was just waiting for that. Fortunately, the people who witnessed the beating called the police, Don Andrea was there too and immediately called for help”.
