The ‘Beautiful Tomorrow Movement’ launched by Akbank in the five provinces most affected by the earthquake reached 10 thousand young people. The project, which offers training opportunities to university students on subjects such as financial literacy, communication skills, CV preparation and interview techniques, is expected to touch a total of 12 thousand young people this year.

Akbank’s goal, which carries out the ‘Beautiful Tomorrows Movement’ together with the Community Volunteers Foundation (TOG), is to contribute to social improvement. The project, which reached more than 10 thousand young people in the five provinces most affected by the earthquake in its first year, has expanded its target. In its second year, it focused on supporting 12 thousand university students to gain career and life skills.
Akbank Brand and Communications President Beril Alakoç examined the project on site together with TOG managers and journalists. “We believe that the way to create a strong and healthy society is to unlock the potential of our youth. “We aim to contribute to the career journeys of our university students in the earthquake zone and provide them with different experiences such as preparation for the business world, financial literacy and artistic skills,” he said.
A YEAR WITH YOUTH
Akbank Beautiful Tomorrows Movement TIR, which will visit universities in Adıyaman, Hatay, Malatya and Gaziantep for a year, is at the center of the project. Young people who will receive training from experts in their fields both in the TIR and in the university halls will be prepared for the business world. For career and life skills, training will be provided on subjects such as financial literacy and communication skills, CV preparation, interview techniques and preparation for business life. Art will continue to be included among the basic education offered by the Beautiful Tomorrows Movement.
Young people, who will learn how to make animated films with the Stop Motion Animation workshop offered with the contribution of Akbank Sanat, will bring to life the animations they have designed at every stage, from script to voice-over, at the end of the program. In the Short Film workshop, young people will learn practically all the short film production processes, from script writing to shooting and use of light, under the guidance of instructors. At the same time, the selected films will be included in the Akbank Short Film Festival program.
The program also includes support in areas such as psychological resilience, combating peer bullying and anxiety management so that university students can cope with difficult living conditions.
THOUSAND 200 HOURS OF TRAINING
Stating that the Akbank Beautiful Tomorrows Movement attracted great interest from young people in the region in its first year, and that the artistic, technical and social skills of young people were strengthened with 690 workshops and nearly 1,200 hours of training within the scope of the project, Alakoç said that according to the reports, 97 percent of the young people left the centers happy, 98 percent He stated that they found themselves lucky to be able to access the center and 88 percent of them stated that they felt safe in the centers. Alakoç said, “With the project, we gave hope and confidence to young people. As Akbank, we see the education and development of our youth as the cornerstone of sustainable development. We believe that the way to create a strong and healthy society is to unlock the potential of our youth. The Beautiful Tomorrows Movement reflects this belief and offers comprehensive solutions for recovery in the region after the disaster we experienced. “As Akbank, we will continue to support our young people to step into a more equal, stronger and more hopeful future and to invest in Turkey’s future,” he said.
