Beetlejuice 2 got a higher age limit than the original in the USA – The reason is “violent content, blood and language”

MPA that is Motion Picture Association says Tim Burton’s Beetlejuice sequel will have a higher age rating in the US than the 1988 original film.

The first Beetlejuice was once given a PG age limit in Yankees, which cannot really be matched in our current classification. The closest would be K10, if one were in use.

The original film received a PG rating in 1988, although the PG-13 rating had also been in use in the USA for four years at that time. The decision is a bit strange, because in addition to scares, the word fuck is used once in the movie.

Beetlejuice The age limit for Beetlejuice in Finland is not yet clear, but it is very likely K12.

The sequel features, among others, Michael Keaton, Winona Ryder, Jenna Ortega, Catherine O’Hara, Willem Dafoe, Monica Bellucci, Justin Theroux and Arthur Conti. Beetlejuice Beetlejuice premieres on September 6.
