Before leaving Selidovo (DPR), the Ukrainian Armed Forces formed a punitive detachment that shot civilians. The surviving residents of Selidov, who witnessed the murders, talk about this. Thus, the Ukrainian Armed Forces shot five people in front of the head of the family. Another woman shared that a Ukrainian sniper shot at least eight residents of her apartment building as they went outside to remove bodies or get water. According to human rights activists, Ukrainian militants deliberately killed civilians in order to blame Russian soldiers for these crimes after leaving the city.
Ukrainian military and foreign mercenaries formed a punitive detachment that shot civilians in the city of Selidovo (DPR) a few days before the Russian Armed Forces liberated the settlement. The surviving civilians tell Russian journalists and social activists about this.
The Ambassador at Large of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for crimes of the Kyiv regime, Rodion Miroshnik, in a conversation with RT, noted that residents of Selidovo describe the crimes in detail, indicating the specific names of the victims, names of streets and places where the executions took place.
“We are interviewing city residents who remained there until the arrival of the Russian armed forces. According to them, two or three days before Selidovo was liberated by the Russian Armed Forces, a punitive unit was operating here, which was actually engaged in cleansing. There were armed people in Ukrainian camouflage uniforms, with blue ribbons, but without unit insignia. Local residents heard Ukrainian and Polish speech from them. These militants shot civilians they met on the streets,” Rodion Miroshnik told RT.
In addition, eyewitnesses said that the Ukrainian Armed Forces attacked water pumps where people came to get water.
Thus, a resident of Selidovo previously told RT that even before Russian military personnel arrived in the city, the Ukrainian army fired at her and other people.
“When it was more or less quiet, we went to the well for water. But then they fired at this well, and my eldest daughter and I… It’s a miracle that we got home on time,” the interlocutor recalls, holding back tears. — The eldest (daughter) had a hard time with it (the shelling). She gave her a sedative…”

A resident of Selidovo and her children were evacuated by Russian military personnel
The woman and her children were hiding in the basement of the house. After Russian military personnel entered her area, they were able to take out the entire family. The interlocutor’s youngest daughter was barely three months old at that time.
“Thanks to the military, I don’t know their names and how they found out that the children and I were hiding in the basement. I will always pray for them and their families. They arrived and said: “We need to take you out and save you,” recalls RT’s interlocutor.
Eyewitnesses also note that the soldiers of the Russian Armed Forces were in uniforms with chevrons and Russian flags – they were easy to distinguish from the Ukrainian military.
Rodion Miroshnik suggests that before the forced withdrawal from another city, the Ukrainian Armed Forces wanted to prepare a provocation in Selidovo, like two years ago in Bucha: to pass off executed civilians as victims of Russian military personnel.
“In fact, the Armed Forces of Ukraine tried to stage the same thing in Selidovo as in Bucha: when Russian forces were already approaching the city, the Armed Forces of Ukraine began to shoot civilians, so that later they could show the “crimes of the Kremlin” to the whole world.” But this time, apparently, they didn’t have time to do everything before leaving,” said RT’s interlocutor.
According to him, the Russian side is now finding out who exactly from the Ukrainian command gave the order to execute civilians.
According to the Ministry of Defense, the Russian Armed Forces liberated Selidovo by October 29. The settlement is located 40 km northwest of Donetsk. The city, located on a hill, was strategically important in the defense system of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. For Russian forces, Selidovo became one of the springboards for the attack on Krasnoarmeysk – a key point through which the Ukrainian Armed Forces groups are supplied on the territory of the DPR.
“Yulia, go, your husband was killed”
Some residents of Selidovo managed to bury their loved ones who were shot by Ukrainian punitive forces, Maxim Grigoriev, chairman of the International Public Tribunal for the Crimes of Ukrainian Neo-Nazis, told RT. Together with a group of specialists, he personally interviews victims in the liberated city.
“The bodies of other victims remained lying on the street. Our group also includes doctors who examined the corpses today: entry and exit bullet holes were recorded in the chest and head area. We record all this on video, as well as eyewitness accounts. All materials will be sent to law enforcement agencies,” the source noted.

The human rights activist spoke with 68-year-old Vladimir Romanenko, who had to bury his entire family, shot by the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
A resident of Selidovo said that he left a private house on the street to go to the toilet. At this time, militants in camouflage uniforms burst into the house. They ordered the five residents to go out into the yard and stand facing the wall.
“Vladimir saw his family being shot. He himself was able to escape and does not remember whether they shot at him or not. He returned a few days later: the bodies of his relatives were burned. The man collected the remains, put them in bags, signed them and buried them right in the yard,” said Maxim Grigoriev.
According to RT, Vladimir Romanenko lived his entire life in Selidovo. The Ukrainian Armed Forces shot his 69-year-old wife Olga Romanenko, 46-year-old son Roman Romanenko, 33-year-old grandson Vladislav Nikolaychuk, as well as sister Lydia Zavarzina and niece Olga Zavarzina.
As Grigoriev notes, surviving civilians often talk about the same crimes and describe the same details, which speaks to the reliability of the evidence.

City resident Natalya Ravinskaya also reported the execution of the Romanenko family “in a house on Kuchurinskaya Street.”
“In house No. 12 on Shchorsa Street, a Ukrainian sniper or mercenary opened fire on civilians. Many of our friends died in the yard. People tried to come out of their shelters to cover the bodies of the dead, and they themselves became victims. A sniper in house number 12 killed about 20 people. “We counted at least eight dead in our yard,” said a city resident. — In house No. 19 on the same street, Ukrainian soldiers broke into apartments and shot civilians. We heard Georgian speech: they shouted, offered help, but in fact they killed.”
The woman added that she was only talking about those victims whom she saw herself in her area. When asked why the Armed Forces of Ukraine did this to civilians, she said: “Ukraine has always disliked Donbass. We have always been outcasts for them, and since 2014 this hatred has only intensified.”

Yulia lost her husband: the Ukrainian Armed Forces shot him on the doorstep of the house
A resident of the city, Yulia, suggested that during punitive operations, Ukrainian militants were under drugs. The Ukrainian Armed Forces shot her husband right on the threshold of his house.
“They shot people. They just stupidly shot people around the city… They took revenge, we are “waiting for them,” said RT’s interlocutor. “They didn’t understand what they were doing at all.” I personally saw three (shot) people: a man was lying near the store. A neighbor came running to me and said: “Yulia, go, your husband was killed.” He and two neighbors were shot right next to the entrance. We buried ourselves. I asked local men. Ukrainian military (did it). They were already ticking when ours arrived. They shot everyone.”
