Three more creative spaces have opened in St. Petersburg as part of the “Your Budget in Schools” project. Initiatives of students from schools No. 13, No. 341 and Lyceum No. 344 of the Nevsky district were implemented.
“St. Petersburg high school students come up with interesting ideas; they want to try their hand at a variety of fields – from e-sports and cinema to web design. The project “Your Budget in Schools” gives them such an opportunity. Participation in competitive selection teaches students responsibility, teamwork and an understanding of the basics of the budget process. Only active and enterprising residents will help St. Petersburg become a metropolis of the 21st century, a smart, comfortable and open city,” said the governor of the Northern capital, Alexander Beglov.
IN school №341 A modern co-working space “Vector to the Future” has appeared on Dybenko Street with two functional areas – virtual reality and 3D modeling. The space will be used for master classes, exhibitions and hackathons thanks to the appearance of modular furniture there.
Students will present their own VR projects and also participate in competitions. In addition, at the grand opening of the new space, cooperation agreements were signed with the Youth Initiatives Foundation, LETI, SUAI, as well as with the Institute of Entrepreneurship Technologies and Law.
Multifunctional creative space “Together!” V school №13 on Dybenko Street created in the school assembly hall. Now there is video equipment, lighting equipment, and the stages are designed in a new way. The space will be used as a film studio, a school for reporters, and a concert and exhibition area where high school students will present their creative achievements to younger students. More than 100 events are planned here for the coming year.
Director of State Budget Educational Institution Secondary School No. 13 Elena Kharchilava, in turn, emphasized that they actually managed to turn the assembly hall into a professional theater. The advent of moving tables now makes it possible to create areas where creative round tables, meetings will take place, as well as a television center with a television studio where recording will take place. All these changes are aimed at the creative development of children. The director noted that children should “see the beautiful <…> not only in theaters, at exhibitions, but also at my own school.”
“Children from different regions come to us. And it is very important that the face of the St. Petersburg school corresponds and feels comfortable to being here, with such a creative competition. We must keep up with the times,” Kharchilava added.
The Media Friendly CyberSport Center space is located in the radio center Lyceum No. 344 on Telman Street. They have already installed powerful computers, photo and video equipment for recording podcasts, video blogs and streams. The center will host master classes on web design and media content creation. Another important area will be conducting classes on the basics of cybersecurity.
Let us remind you that the “Your Budget in Schools” project appeared 5 years ago on behalf of Governor Alexander Beglov. 58 thousand students from 357 schools have already become familiar with the practice of proactive budgeting. The project helps improve the school environment, as well as develop students’ skills in project activities, leadership and communication.
Successes in the implementation of the St. Petersburg project have been repeatedly noted at the federal level. By the end of this year, the project will cover more than half of the city’s schools.
