Actress Hannelore Hoger has died at the age of 82. Her management has now announced this.
Hannelore Hoger did not live to see Christmas 2024. The actress, who became known not least for her role Bella Block in the ZDF crime series of the same name, died on December 21st. Wolfgang Werner, Hoger’s manager, announced this on behalf of his daughter Nina Hoger.
38 episodes of “Bella Block” ran between 1994 and 2018, and almost seven million people saw the “Bella Block” farewell. Hoger herself had apparently recently moved a long way away from her figure. In an interview, she was bothered by the fact that her role had become so adjusted. She told “Bild” a few years ago that Bella Block was no longer allowed to have a boyfriend, was no longer allowed to smoke and was no longer allowed to smoke.
ZDF program director Dr. Nadine Bilke: “Hannelore Hoger was an actress with soul, heart and mind. She could tell everything – the warm and the cold. With her we could look into abysses and endure the pain of seeing as long as she looked with and for us at perpetrators and victims. We have lost a great actress.”
ZDF director Dr. Norbert Himmler said in a press release on Friday: “With Hannelore Hoger, an extraordinary personality and a great actress of our time is leaving us. As Inspector Bella Block, she spoke from the heart of the audience and reached their hearts and minds. We bow to an outstanding actress and a wonderful person.”
Hannelore Hoger’s career began in the theater
Hoger began her career at the theater in Ulm in the 1960s. Further engagements followed, including in Berlin, Hamburg and Bochum. Carsten Brosda, Senator for Culture and Media in Hamburg and also President of the German Stage Association, said: “The stars in the theater sky are mourning. Hannelore Hoger was the epitome of a great actress. No matter whether in the theater, in film or on television – she knew how to completely transform herself into characters and always remain present in the role. Her art was psychologically sensitive acting, her gift was the feeling for a large audience, and her passion was unconditional freedom. Hamburg and the acting world mourn an impressive personality whose works will have an impact for a long time.”
