The fourth generation Bentley Continental GT has just been officially launched with a series of upgrades in design, equipment and engine. The most notable of which is the V8 hybrid system with a maximum power of nearly 800 horsepower.
Under pressure from increasingly strict emission regulations in the US and European countries, large engines such as W16, V12, W12 are gradually disappearing from new products of sports car manufacturers such as BMW M, Mercedes-AMG or Lamborghini, Porsche. They are replaced by smaller capacity engines combined with hybrid systems, to bring stronger performance while reducing emissions.
Bentley recently officially introduced to global users the new generation Continental GT and GTC. The most notable point on this new grand tourer model is the new V8 hybrid system with a capacity of up to 771 horsepower, replacing the W12 engine that has made Bentley famous for many years.
In terms of design, the new generation Continental GT still maintains the overall design with a nostalgic style mixed with a bit of sportiness that the company has applied since 2003 to the present. The biggest change is the single LED matrix headlight cluster inspired by the Batur supercar , replacing the classic double round lights on the old generation. The company said the new light cluster includes 120 meticulously finished independent LED bulbs to ensure lighting ability while providing a unique visual effect.
The rear of the car is also slightly adjusted in the bumper and rear diffuser, exhaust port… The taillights still have the elliptical design like the old generation, but the interior details have been changed to be more sophisticated and eye-catching. The rims on this model are up to 21 inches in size, with carbon ceramic disc brakes.
The interior layout of the Bentley Continental GT and GTC 2025 is not much different from the old version. The highlight on the dashboard is the 12.3-inch central screen with the ability to rotate 3 sides. In addition, the new generation is also equipped with a more advanced entertainment system, wireless connection technology with the user’s device, over-the-air software updates and upgraded soundproofing.
When choosing to buy this model, customers can freely personalize through options provided by Mulliner, including the Dark Chrome Specification package or optional Bang & Olufsen or Naim sound system.
The new generation Bentley Continental GT Speed is equipped with a new powertrain called Ultra Performance Hybrid, consisting of a twin-turbo V8 engine with a 4.0L electric turbocharger, an electric motor located in the transmission and a battery pack. 25.9 kWh power is located at the rear bridge. Comes with an 8-speed dual-clutch transmission, full-time 4-wheel drive system with eLSD anti-slip electronic differential.
Other performance upgrades include new twin-valve dampers that allow individual wheel compression and rebound to be adjusted, helping to dampen vibrations from the road more quickly. Not only that, the car is also equipped with standard rear-wheel steering system and active anti-roll bars. According to Bentley, the new generation Continental GT is a product that brings the comfortable sitting feeling of a luxury car but still possesses the sporty driving style of a true supercar.
This V8 engine alone is capable of producing 600 horsepower and 800 Nm of torque. The included electric motor system has a capacity of 190 horsepower and 450 Nm of torque. In total, the new British-branded grand tourer model possesses power up to 782 horsepower and 1,000 Nm.
Despite being 192 kg heavier than the previous generation, the luxury coupe is still capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.2 seconds, before reaching a maximum speed of up to 335 km/h. The Continental GTC Speed convertible version has slightly lower parameters at 3.4 seconds and 285 km/h.
The new Bentley Continental GT will go on sale from the third quarter of this year. The company has not yet announced the price of this model.
