Biden criticizes Trump for spreading hurricane lies

The President of the United States, Joe Biden, directs sharp criticism at the Republican presidential candidate, Donald Trump.

According to Biden, Trump sprinkles himself with reckless and irresponsible lies about the government’s handling of hurricanes Helene and most recently Milton, which is expected to hit Florida on Thursday Danish time.

– There has been a reckless, irresponsible and persistent promotion of disinformation and outright lies, says Biden in the White House.

It happens while he briefs on the situation with the giant hurricane Milton and the threat of extensive destruction on Florida’s west coast.

By his side, Biden has Vice President Kamala Harris, who is vying with Trump for the presidency of the United States in the November 5 election.

Biden says Trump has led “an onslaught of lies.”

There is misinformation which “undermines confidence” in the rescue work.

– It is harmful to those who need help the most, says the president.

Trump, who held the presidency before Biden beat him in the 2020 election, has pushed with his Republican Party false claims about the handling of the hurricanes.

Among other things, they have said that the aid authorities in the state organization FEMA have used state funds to help migrants instead of victims of hurricanes.

– It has been said that property has been confiscated. It doesn’t fit. They say that people affected by these storms will each get $750 in cash and no more. It doesn’t fit, says Biden.

750 dollars is 5100 kroner.

– They say that money to be spent in this crisis is diverted to migrants. That’s a ridiculous thing to say. It doesn’t fit, says the president.

He also criticizes Republican congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene, who has made “even more bizarre” claims.

– She now says that the federal government literally controls the weather. It’s on the other side of ridiculous. It must stop, says Biden and continues:

– This looks like the storm of the century. It is literally a matter of life and death.
