Joe Biden has announced that he will not run for US President. This reported his official account on the social network X.

In an official letter, Biden wrote that he would make a separate address to the people in which he would explain his decision.

“Our country has made tremendous progress over the past three and a half years.

Today, the U.S. economy is the strongest in the world. We have made historic investments that have allowed us to rebuild the country, lower prescription drug prices for seniors, and expand health care to record numbers of Americans. We have provided critical care to millions of veterans exposed to toxic substances. We have passed the first gun safety law in 30 years. We have appointed the first African-American woman to the Supreme Court. Never before has the United States been better prepared to lead the world.

None of this could have been accomplished without you, the American people. Together, we have weathered a once-in-a-century pandemic and the greatest economic crisis since the Great Depression. We have protected and preserved our democracy. We have strengthened our relationships with allies around the world.

It has been a great honor to serve you as President. And while I intended to seek reelection, I believe it would be in the best interests of our party and our country if I withdrew from the race and focused on serving as President for the remainder of my term.

Later this week I will give an address to the nation where I will explain my decision in more detail.

And now I want to express my deepest gratitude to everyone who worked so hard to get me re-elected. I want to thank Kamala Harris for being such a terrific partner in all of this. And let me extend my heartfelt appreciation to the American people for the faith and trust you have placed in me.

“I believe today what I have always believed: there is nothing America cannot do – provided we do it together. We just have to remember that we are the United States of America,” Joe Biden wrote in his official address.

Besides this, Joe Biden supported Vice President Kamala Harris and called for her to be the Democratic Party’s presidential nominee.

This happened after Joe Biden had a poor debate with Donald Trump, after which many people began to doubt that Biden’s age and health condition allow him to continue the race and compete with Donald Trump.
