Despite growing criticism of the president’s suitability Joe Biden to run for reelection, his campaign continues to close ranks around the Democrat and this Saturday he assured that will soon be back on the road, as soon as he recovers from Covid. “As soon as we get the green light, we’ll be back on the campaign trail” and the president “will continue to do so, as you’ve seen him do every day since the debate in Atlanta,” campaign spokesman Michael Tyler said in a call with reporters.
Biden is currently in insulation in your Delaware home, after Wednesday gave positive for covid-19 while campaigning in Nevada, a key state for the November elections. According to the latest report from the president’s doctor, Kevin O’Connor, published on Friday, Biden has experienced a “significant” improvement although he continues to have symptoms, especially a dry cough and hoarseness.
All this while more and more congressional Democrats are calling on him to end his candidacy for the November elections. At least thirty have publicly called on Biden to step down.
Tyler did not comment on the criticism today but assured that the president will return as soon as he can. He did not offer details on where he might reappear, but said he would likely continue to focus on key states like Nevada, Arizona, Georgia and North Carolina, as well as in the so-called ‘blue wall’: Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, and Michigan.
In the latter, in the town of Grand Rapids, the former president will hold a rally this Saturday Donald Trump (2017-2021), the first since his assassination attempt a week ago and also the first since he accepted the nomination this week at the party convention in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Trump will be accompanied by his vice presidential candidate, Ohio Senator JD Vance, at the first rally together for the Republican presidential ticket.
