BiH and Serbia are jointly modernizing the railway from Doboj to Ruma

The proposal for an agreement on cooperation on the joint realization of the project of reconstruction and modernization of the Ruma – Ĺ abac – Loznica (Republic of Serbia) – Zvornik – Tuzla – Doboj (Bosnia and Herzegovina) was established at the session of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

At the proposal of the Ministry of Communications and Transport, the agreement was established by the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Government of the Republic of Serbia.

“By concluding this agreement, the two countries want to improve the quality and speed of rail traffic, while providing better services for passenger freight and intermodal traffic. “With the reduction of travel time and the increase of the attractiveness of railway traffic for passengers and the economy, with the expected support of European financial institutions,” the statement of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina states.

The projected speed on this section of the railway will be up to 120 kilometers per hour, and will depend on local conditions.

The project will be implemented with, as stated, the expected support of European financial institutions.

The proposal of the agreement will be submitted to the BiH Presidency for further procedure, and Edin Forto, Minister of Transport and Communications, has been proposed as the signatory of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
