Bio Pharma area manager killed in bike-dumper collision in Chakaria

A motorcycle collided head-on with a dumper truck loaded with bricks at Chakria on the Chittagong-Cox’s Bazar highway. Borhan Uddin, area manager of the drug company Bio Pharma, died on the spot.
At this time, two others were seriously injured. Eyewitnesses said that Giyas Uddin, manager of Sonali Bank Chakaria branch is also among them. The identity of the other injured could not be confirmed.
The accident took place in front of the Jame Masjid in Dolmpi, Nalbilasth, near Chakaria College on the Chittagong-Cox’s Bazar highway.
The house of Borhan Uddin, area manager of the deceased drug company, is in Shilkali Union of Pekua Upazila. The house of injured Sonali Bank manager Gias Uddin is also in Pekua. The injured have been admitted to Zamzam Private Hospital. All three victims were motorcycle riders.
Chiringa Highway Police OC Md. Ariful Amin said that after the accident, the injured were rescued from the scene and taken to the hospital. Among them, Bio Pharma Area Manager Borhan Uddin died on the spot. Two others are hospitalized.
He also said that the dumper truck and motorcycle loaded with bricks that fell in the accident have been seized. Necessary measures will be taken in this regard under the Road Safety Act.
