Steve McQueen is a director and screenwriter known primarily for the Oscar-winning drama “Zniewolony”. As previously announced, his latest film, titled “Blitz”, debuted on Apple TV+ today.
“Blitz” is a war drama set in England during World War II. It tells the story of nine-year-old George living in London, who is sent to the countryside by his mother, Rita, hoping that he will be safer there than in the city. Plan However, this does not please the boy, who decides to run away and get back home on his own. The main roles are played by Saoirse Ronan (including “Angel’s Nostalgia” and “Hanna”) and Elliott Heffernan (for whom it was his first film role). Steve McQueen is responsible for the script and direction.
