Bloomberg Reports Disney’s Plans to Save the Marvel Cinematic Universe

It is noted that Disney acquired Marvel 15 years ago for $4 billion, but did not have the film rights to some of the comics – they were sold to other companies. In 2019, 21st Century Fox was also purchased, after which it began to own the rights to characters from the comics “Deadpool”, “Fantastic Four”, “X-Men”.

“Deadpool and Wolverine” will be the first Marvel movie of 2024 and is expected to bring a sequel to the previous two parts.

“We’ve been dreaming for a long time, certainly since we acquired Fox, to bring mutants into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. And this is the beginning of a very long journey,” said Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige.

Lately, Marvel Studios, as journalists of the publication note, has had problems. For example, “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantomania”, released a year ago, did not even pay for itself, and the box office of the film “Captain Marvel 2” set an anti-record for the entire history of the franchise.

Earlier, we wrote that Inside Out 2 could become the highest-grossing cartoon in history. The film quickly surpassed almost all of its competitors, including the full-length animated adaptation of the Mario video game series, the Super Mario Bros. Movie.
