Big novelty coming soon for BMW. Il 2025 it will be a decisive year for the brand’s electrification strategy, with the launch of the new iX3, which aims to become one of the most important battery-powered SUVs in the category.
Based on the new architettura New classpromises superior performance thanks to new, more efficient batteries. But that’s not all, because the renewed 2 Series Gran Coupé and 7 Series are also on the way.
BMW iX3 2025
The second generation of the iX3 should be completely separate – at least in terms of design – from the endothermic X3. As seen in the first spy photos, the front design of the new SUV recalls the Vision Neue Klasse concept, characterized by large horizontal headlights and a double kidney grille, distinctive BMW elements.

As for the batterythe first model of the Neue Klasse could use BMW’s sixth-generation batteries, equipped with round cells. These cells promise a 30% increase in autonomy and charging speed compared to current ones. With a standard diameter of 46 millimeters, they will offer better energy density, eliminating the need for an excessively large and heavy battery pack.
Codenamed “NA5”, the electric SUV will not be produced in China like the current iX3, but will be assembled in a new plant in Debrecenin Hungary. Availability in Europe is scheduled for the second half of 2025, with a price list that will initially include the 40, 40 xDrive, 50 xDrive and M60 xDrive versions. One version Midentified as “ZA5”, is expected in the near future.

BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe 2025
Just like the current model, the restyling of the 2 Series Gran Coupé will also share many aspects with the 1 Series. For this reason, we expect a look largely inherited from the Bavarian compact, with the new LED headlights front and rear, as well as a completely revised diffuser and larger kidney grille in high-gloss black.
BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe, the current model
The same goes for the interiors, with the 2 Series Gran Coupé expected to adopt two 10.25″ and 10.7″ screens side by side. In terms of enginesthe range should consist of the 150 HP diesel 118d (non-electrified) and the 163 HP 120d (mild hybrid), the 170 HP 120 petrol mild hybrid and the 301 HP M135i xDrive, all combined with the dual clutch automatic transmission 7 gears.

BMW Series 7 restyling
Although the design of the 7 Series is still current, BMW already seems ready for a first mid-career update. The first mules of the restyling were filmed last summer and the series model could be presented in the second half of 2025.
The changes could only concern aesthetics, with a more rounded shape of the front headlights and new style choices for the wheels and color for the bodywork. On board we expect a update to the various graphics of the digital instruments, while under the skin it is difficult to make predictions about the changes to the powertrain, both for the endothermic and electric versions.
