In yet another massive recall due to Takata airbags, BMW has announced that it is recalling 6,503,996 of its cars equipped with a Sport or M-Sport steering wheel.
Specifically, the following are recalled:
- BMW 1 Series (2003 – 2018)
- BMW 2 Series (2013 – 2018)
- BMW 3 Series (2003 – 2018)
- BMW 4 Series (2013 – 2018)
- BMW 5 Series (2003 – 2018)
- BMW 6 Series (2003 – 2018)
- BMW X1 (2009 – 2018)
- BMW X3 (2003 – 2018)
- BMW X6 (2007-2018)
- BMW X5 (2003 – 2018)
At the same time, due to defective Takata airbags, Volkswagen is recalling 296,878 Eos, Fox, Up, Golf, Passat, Passat CC, Polo, Sharan, Tiguan, Transporter and Crafter, produced between 2006 – 2017, while for the same reason Chevrolet is recalling 348,102 Aveo, Cruze, Orlando and Trax produced between 2008 – 2017.
