BMW stops taking orders for the iX3

The iX3 has been a major part of the commercial success of BMW’s all-electric cars, with the German company now stopping taking orders for the model.

More specifically, the production of the iX3 will end in the second quarter of 2025, but its orders are so high that they force BMW to withdraw the iX3 from its price lists and its configurator. This means that all the cars that will be assembled have been sold, and you can only buy one from dealer stock.

Sales of the Munich company’s all-electric models were impressive in the first half of 2024, reaching 179,554 cars, when Mercedes-Benz sold 93,400 electric cars and Audi 76,657 cars.

At the same time, however, the iX3 is the “oldest” model of BMW’s electric range, having been around for 4 years. The successor to the iX3 will be the production version of the Vision Neue Klasse X, and will be produced in Hungary, while the iX3 is assembled in China.
