The fourth generation from the BMW X3 was presented in September 2024 with all-new shapes and a slightly larger body. With project code G45compared to the outgoing model, it is longer and wider and also has a larger trunk.
As always, we discover in this brief analysis how big it is in concrete terms, remembering that among its main competitors there are models such as the new Audi Q5 and the Mercedes GLC, both recently renewed.
BMW X3 2024, the dimensions
The new BMW X3 is long 4.76 meterslong 1,92 m and tall 1.66 meters, with a decidedly generous step of well 2.87 meters: almost like an average electric car. Compared to the previous model, the length has grown by 3.4 cm and the width by 2.9 cm.

Being a premium D-segment medium SUV, as you can easily imagine, the space on board is not lacking, even for rear passengers. Thehabitability of the new X3, in fact, is very good, also thanks to the great glass roof (optional) which runs along the entire bodywork up to part of the luggage compartment.
And speaking of cargo volumethe new SUV from Elica can boast 20 litres more than the previous model, a value which therefore brings the overall capacity to 570 liters for the mild hybrid versions and 460 litres for the plug-in hybrid versions, naturally in the 5-seater configuration (previously they were 550 litres and 440 litres respectively).
Finally, by folding down the seats, the values go to 1,700 liters and 1,600 litres.
BMW X3 2024, the competitors with similar dimensions
The main direct rivals of the new BMW X3 are first of all its historic German competitors, namely the Audi Q5 and the Mercedes GLC, both recently renewed.
Looking outside the German borders, however, we also find other models that now play a very important role in this segment, such as the Alfa Romeo Stelvio, the Jaguar F-Pace and the Volvo XC60. They all have rather similar dimensions and trunks.
