BNK Busan Bank participates in opening the 3rd ‘Our Neighborhood ESG Center’

Busan Bank contributed to the realization of local ESG values ​​promoted by Busan City.

BNK Busan Bank (CEO Bang Seong-bin) participated in the opening ceremony of the 3rd ‘Our Neighborhood ESG Center’ located in Bansong-dong, Haeundae-gu on the afternoon of the 13th.

This ESG Center was created jointly by Busan Bank, Busan City, Haeundae-gu, Korea Senior Citizens’ Human Resources Development Institute, and Korea Housing Finance Corporation to address local environmental issues and create jobs for the elderly.

‘Our Neighborhood ESG Center’ is a resource circulation center where waste plastics separately discharged by local residents are collected by local senior citizens, reprocessed into LED lights and safety handles, and then returned to local residents. ESG centers are operated in Geumjeong-gu and Dong-gu. It’s in progress.

The third branch, the Haeundae-gu ESG Center, has created jobs for about 100 seniors for resource circulation activities such as waste plastic collection and washing, and plans to operate an eco-friendly education program for daycare centers and kindergartens in the area.

Moon Jeong-won, head of Busan Bank’s Eastern Sales Division, said, “We hope that the ESG center in our neighborhood will contribute to creating jobs for the elderly and help solve environmental problems,” and added, “We will continue to work together with institutions to solve community problems and practice ESG management.” “I will try my best,” he said.

To improve the air environment, Busan Bank is carrying out various eco-friendly social contribution activities, such as supporting fine dust intake vehicles at Busan Port and creating a green park in Nakdong River Ecological Park.
