The bodybuilder Trouillet will invest between 15 and 18 million euros over five years in its factories. “Our ambition is to produce 4,000 bodies per year. We are investing massively in new tools to increase the pace,” says Benoît Trouillet, who shares with his brother Adrien the management of the family business in Morangis (Essonne), created by their grandparents André and Micheline in 1957. In 2023, 3,000 bodyworks left the group’s three production sites, in Saint-Jean-de-Braye and Neuville-aux-Bois (Loiret), and Fontenay-le-Comte (Vendée).
Trouillet in figures
- 73 million euros turnover in 2023
- 400 employees
- 60% of the turnover achieved in the industry
Trouillet aims to triple its turnover by 2030, which was 73 million euros in 2023. It wants to gain market share in its various markets and through innovation. Three new industrial products have just been launched, including a low-loader semi-trailer for transporting equipment, as well as Primefreeze, a range intended for the refrigerated utility segment, from which Trouillet was absent until now. The SME also wants to strengthen the other areas of its activity. Around its historic bodywork business, it has created an ecosystem with three other components: workshop services, rental and distribution of used utility vehicles.
“Trouillet is the only national player offering a complete range of bodies, from utility vehicles to semi-trailers, with a range of services via a network of agencies and another for short, medium or long term rental,” summarizes Benoît Trouillet. Two new agencies have just been added to the twelve already created in France and strengthen the territorial network. If the strategic plan is respected, the workforce, 400 employees today, will increase by 50% by 2030. From 2024, 70 additional employees will be recruited to work in the factories and agencies.
