Boox releases new e-book reader

Boox releases a new e-book reader in mobile format that will take care of the shortcomings of the first generation.

The company Boox now presents the second generation of its e-book reader Palma. The new one Palma 2 has been developed to, among other things, address things that didn’t quite go down well with the first generation. For example, it has a faster octa-core processor for smoother browsing and a generally faster interface. They have also changed the Android version, from Android 11 to Android 13. Another new feature is a fingerprint reader built into the power button.

Something that made many like Palma is the small format, and Palma 2 has an E Ink Carta 1200 screen of 6.13 inches with 300 ppi. In addition to the faster processor, there is 6 gigabytes of working memory and 128 gigabytes of storage under the hood.

As it is based on Android, Palma 2 not only supports Google’s Play Books and its library, but can also be used to listen to e-books, manage to-do lists, record audio recordings, manage a number of different widgets , and much more.

The Boox Palma 2 is now available for pre-order in ivory white and deep cyan black at a price of $280, the same as the first generation.
