Boris Johnson: Listening equipment in toilet after Netanyahu visit

Former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson says that after a visit by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, listening devices were found in Johnson’s toilet.

It must have happened in 2017.

At the time, Boris Johnson was British Foreign Secretary when he was visited by Netanyahu.

The guest from Israel had to borrow the toilet.

Later, British security officers found some listening equipment in the bathroom.

The information is to be read in Boris Johnson’s forthcoming memoir, “Unleashed”. It hits the streets on October 10.

The Daily Telegraph newspaper has received some excerpts from the book in advance. This is where the episode with Netanyahu and the eavesdropping equipment comes to light, write Politico and the Jerusalem Post.

Boris Johnson writes that “Bibi”, as Netanyahu is called, was gone for a while.

– It may or may not have been a coincidence, but when they carried out their normal investigations for wiretapping, they found wiretapping equipment in the bathroom, writes Boris Johnson.

The Daily Telegraph has asked Boris Johnson if he has more information on the case. But the curious will have to wait.

– I think everything you want to know about the episode is in the book.

Israel has been linked to wiretapping of close allies before.

Politico writes that in 2019 the magazine reported that the US government suspected the Israelis of placing wiretapping equipment near the White House in the US federal capital, Washington DC
