BIST 100 index in Borsa Istanbul is at the level of 9902 points.

At the opening, BIST 100 index decreased by 91.97 points and 0.92 percent compared to the previous close, falling to 9,929.83 points. As of 14:40, it dropped to 9,902 points.

Selling pressure deepened in global markets as macroeconomic data released in the US yesterday revived recession fears, while data from the employment report to be released on Friday continues to remain in investors’ focus.

Although it is almost certain that the US Federal Reserve (Fed) will begin to ease its tight monetary policy stance this month, concerns that the US economy may cool down faster than expected have caused risk perception to rise significantly.
