bpost is starting a pilot project where goods can be sent without packaging or labels by placing them in a parcel locker. bpost is the first player on the market to offer such packaging and label-free shipping. The shipping option is initially only available via the My bpost app.
Since today, private individuals or companies that send a product via bpost from the Antwerp region can opt for shipping without a label and without packaging. The only condition is that it concerns a shipment to and from a bpost parcel locker. The pilot project, which has been running since January 6, involves more than 30 vending machines in Antwerp and the immediate surroundings. The intention is to make this new shipping option possible throughout the country during 2025.
This new solution puts the comfort of the bpost customer first. It saves the sender from having to deal with cardboard boxes, tape or printing a label. Moreover, this packaging-free shipping immediately becomes the cheapest within bpost’s offering. For 3.99 euros, an item of up to two kilograms can be sent from one parcel locker to another within Belgium.
When a customer wants to ship a product, he creates his digital shipping label with the recipient’s address. This is initially only possible via the My bpost app, but later also via the website. A barcode is generated. He then opens the Parcel Locker by scanning the barcode on the screen of his smartphone and places the object (max. 48x32x20cm) without packaging or paper label in the locker. The product will then be sent to the Parcel Locker closest to the recipient, or a Parcel Locker of your choice. When the parcel arrives, the recipient receives a notification via the My bpost app or by email and can retrieve the shipment from the Parcel Locker, again using their smartphone. The sender can always track the shipment via Track & Trace.
