With the Big Boy 1200 model, Brabus enters a new segment and presents a camper whose exclusivity is almost unsurpassed. The Big Boy 1200 belongs to the company’s Masterpiece series and is based on the Mercedes Actros 5. It is powered by an OM 471LA engine with 530 hp and a torque of 2,600 newton meters. The maximum speed is limited to 90 km/h – adaptation to the dimensions and weight of the vehicle.
Brabus is better known for tuning sports and off-road cars, but with this move the company from Bottrop is expanding its offer. Models like Rocket GTSthe converted Mercedes-AMG SL 63 SE Performance with 1,000 HP in shooting brake style, or numerous modified G-Classes with luxury watches and boats as complete packages, show what the tuner has been doing so far: performance and individuality. The Big Boy 1200 now proves that Brabus can set standards in a completely different segment.
With a length of 12 meters, a height of 4 meters and a weight of 26 tons, the Big Boy 1200 is an imposing presence on the road. When parked, the camper extends its full living area of around 30 square meters using four exhaust modules, creating a feeling of spaciousness. The interior offers a high level of comfort with a sleeping area containing a double bed, a wardrobe and a work area. The salon, as Brabus calls the living room, is equipped with two luxurious leather sofas.
The kitchen is equipped with the most modern appliances: induction hob, oven, combined fridge and freezer, and even a wine fridge. A built-in central vacuum cleaner is also practical, available in several places in the living area, which makes cleaning easier. The bathroom is more reminiscent of a luxury hotel than a classic camper: high-quality faucets and a shower with rain effect provide the feeling of a spa experience.
Everything you need for entertainment and connectivity is also provided: the camper has an extensive entertainment system with a smart TV, a PlayStation 5 console and a powerful audio system. Through the Starlink satellite internet service, passengers have access to the internet and streaming services, even in remote regions.
In appearance, the Big Boy 1200 remains true to the typical Brabus style. The luxury camper is painted in glossy black and decorated with carbon details. The illuminated Brabus logo on the radiator grille, as well as additional LED lights on the roof, round off the striking exterior. This model is intended for an exclusive target group and should cost around 1.5 million euros.
The Big Boy 1200 competes with other luxury campers that are also shaping the luxury vehicle market: for example, the Actros Élégance Lounge luxury horse carrier from Théault, combines the comfort of a camper with the ability to safely transport horses.
Other alternatives offer special features, such as the Loki Coach with a built-in charging station for electric vehicles or the Concorde Liner 1090 GIO, which has a garage for a sports car, enabling the passion for fast vehicles even when travelling.
The Big Boy 1200 model shows that Brabus is not only dedicated to tuning sports cars, but that it wants to set new standards in the luxury camper segment. Regardless of whether it is intended for long trips or as a mobile refuge for business meetings – Big Boy 1200 offers its owners high comfort and exclusive equipment that takes travel to a new level.
