The delegation of the Football Association of Serbia headed by Branko Radujko, the general secretary, inspected the “Dubočica” stadium in Leskovac!
After a good game and victory in the match against Switzerland, the shadow of that success was cast by the disastrous grass surface at the stadium in Leskovac. Immediately after the match with the Swiss, the general secretary announced FSS-a, Branko Radujko and pointed out that this must not happen again:
– The fact is that the impression after such a great victory was somewhat spoiled by the bad condition of the field, for which the Football Association of Serbia takes responsibility. This is the result of inadequate maintenance in the previous period, and the failures we found, such as the one with the field in Leskovac, are a clear indication of the perceived negligence and irresponsibility. The state did not build stadiums and fields for someone to use them irresponsibly. They are a value for future times and we will treat them as such. I am convinced that we will change that very quickly, and establish the highest standards in all segments, including the condition of the football fields. This is also our obligation, which we will undertake with full seriousness, hard work and concrete results. Accordingly, for the match against Denmark in November, the pitch at the Dubočica stadium in Leskovac will be in much better condition. This will show that we are changing things for the better at FSS” said the first operative of the football organization at the time.
Football Association of Serbia he started preparations for the League of Nations match between Serbia and Denmarkwhich will take place on November 18 at the “Dubočica” stadium in Leskovac. Due to the problem with the grass surface, he provided professional help Stefan Dinčićdirector of the “Rajko Mitić” stadium, while Red Star ceded machinery for field rehabilitation. The work is already underway, and the goal is to bring the turf to optimal condition before the match, after earlier failures in maintenance:
-Immediately after the match with Switzerland, we announced that we will take all necessary measures so that the field at the “Dubočica” stadium will be in incomparably better condition for the match with Denmark. From then until today, we have been dealing with solving that problem, so far the reasons why the field was in bad condition have been determined. First of all, we have the presence of pathogens, i.e. grass root diseases. The terrain is specific, it is a hybrid, but with 95 percent natural grass, which means that it is very sensitive to the weather, the heat, which was great here, then the cold and rain. In the first place, however, is grass root disease. We solve that problem by using adequate mechanization, adequate preparations, using new, high-quality seeds that will give results before the match with Denmark and bring the field to a completely regular state so that quality football can be played. I have to say that before the match with Switzerland, we played 14 games here in a period of 40 days, only Dubočica played four, but the field also served other clubs from the region. And he will be able to use himself so intensively again, because we will not train him in the short term. We will provide this, as well as the pitches in Loznica and Zaječar, as well as properly help to maintain all the new pitches that were built from the UEFA hat-trick program. And there will be many new ones, because we want football in the Super League and the First League, as well as lower leagues, to be played on quality pitches. For all that we want, we create a sustainable and efficient maintenance system, we implement measures that unfortunately were not implemented before. Each club that has a new field will have appropriate machinery and will have several trained people who will go through the process of education and training at the Sports Center in Stara Pazova. The training will be carried out by experts from the renowned company “Pro Pič”, which deals with this business throughout Europe and the world. We will also have consultants from the Premier League, leading experts for field maintenance. We see all pitches as a great resource, as something that is necessary to raise the quality of our players, our clubs and our national team. And we’ll keep them like dry gold- said Branko Radujko.
The General Secretary of the FSS was in the company at the “Dubočica” stadium Stefan Dinčićdirector of the “Rajko Mitić” stadium.
– I would like to publicly thank the general manager of Crvena zvezda, Zvezdan Terzić, who offered logistical support to the Football Association and made available the experts and machinery of Crvena zvezda, whose pitch is really in an extraordinary condition. They are with us today, and I would also like to thank Mr. Žemberi from TSC, who offered similar support, but it was not needed because we had already started with Red Star. Mostly, these are two excellent examples of field maintenance, of clubs participating in European competitions. And thank them again- concluded Branko Radujko, Secretary General of the FSS.
