The documentary film “Bread and Roses” premiered during last year’s edition of the Cannes festival, where it was very well received by critics. From now on, you can also watch it via Apple TV+.
“Bread and Roses” is a documentary film presenting the fate of three women from Afghanistan, showing how their lives changed after the Taliban took power in the country again in 2021. Its producers are Malala Yousafzai (a Pakistani activist awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for her actions for women’s rights) and Jennifer Lawrence (an actress known primarily from the “Hunger Games” and “X-men” series, who previously collaborated with Apple on the film “The Bridge”). The director was Sahra Mani, from Afghanistan, known for, among others, thanks to the documentary “A Thousand Girls Like Me”.
